Advice: Be patient, be patient, be patient. Take each training, each recovery day and each event at a time.

I started running competitively back in 2016 when I took on my first 10 miler. Dressed in swim shorts, flat trainers and surgical stockings I ran as fast as I could….and that day I caught the running bug. Since then I’ve got onto run many half’s, marathons, ultra marathons, triathlons etc. But my main passion now is coaching and making sure that every member of JH Running Club gets 100% out of every session and every event.

I started running 2021, that year I did Brighton marathon just hoping to get round, now completing at a high level in marathons, half marathon and sprint triathlons and also a GB age group athlete in duathlons.

          Advice: Be consistent

I’ve been running for just over 2 years, I’ve also completed a couple of sprint tri, classic and aquathlon and had a few attempts at trail running but have decided that road running is more enjoyable for me.
I completed Brighton and London marathon in 2023 plus quite a few half marathons and I’m training for Brighton again this year plus I got a place in Berlin marathon in September 2024.

          Favourite distance: Marathon
Favourite event: Too tough to chose – London / Chicago / Berlin Marathons
          Favourite shoe: Nike Vaporfly
Advice: Comparison is the thief of Joy, just be the best version of you. Stay patient, stay consistent, trust the process.. and most importantly.. ENJOY it

My running journey began in 2017. I was overweight & not feeling good in myself, so I initially started running purely to try & shift some weight, but for some unknown reason I wasn’t able to find any real motivation to stick at it & had given up by 2018 after managing 1 Half Marathon. After sinking back into bad routines, I watched the 2019 London Marathon on TV & was instantly inspired to take up running once again, from that day forward I have never looked back. I have now ran 6 Marathons including 3 World Major Races in London, Berlin & Chicago. I will be taking on my 7th & 8th Marathons this year when I take on the Paris & London Marathons 2024. I have also ran multiple Half Marathons & 2 Ultra Marathons, completing both 50k & 100k distances. Running has in many ways saved my life & I am now enjoying being able to give something back to the sport in my own little way
